Drug therapy

Analgesics (pain inhibitors), anti-inflammatory drugs and corticosteroids are used to treat pain. Application can be local or systemic, for example, a local anesthetic or a corticosteroid may be injected directly into the joint (intraarticularly).

In addition to these groups of drugs, antibiotics (for bacterial inflammation), as well as substances that protect the cartilage such as mucopolysaccharides, glycosaminoglycans or hyaluronic acid, are also used in orthopedics

In our practice, the drugs will be suggested and prescribed according to the valid therapeutic guidelines followed by a detailed explanation of the indications and side effects.
